XIStudies Begin

1The Master said: “Those whose studies begin with Ritual and music are commoners. Those whose studies end with Ritual and music are noble-minded.

“If I employed such a saying, I’d say studies begin there.”

2The Master said: “Of my followers in Ch’en and Ts’ai, not one came far enough to enter my gate.”

For eloquence: Tsai Yü and Adept Kung.
